The district of Chikmagalur in Karnataka is famous as the birthplace of Indian coffee and produces some of the best arabica coffee in the country, including those selected for our current Guest Bean from Asia. The coffee on the Garigekhan estate is grown alongside pepper, turmeric, oranges and lemons and in the shade of a canopy of Ficus trees. This biodiverse setting, also home to peacocks, bears and tigers (oh my!) is perfect for cultivating quality beans.
Most Indian coffees are earthy and spicy, but this delicious single origin is light and floral, with notes of lavender, lime and peach. A unique offering.
