Savills Shares the 200 Coffee Love

Walking a short 2-minute walk from our 200 Degrees Coffee Shop in Birmingham I arrived at Savills new offices, housed in 55 Colmore Row, a grade II listed Victorian façade hiding an ultra-contemporary office inside.  I pass through the glass doors, following a series of smart suited and booted types, into the 19th century banking hall, now home to the buildings main reception desk.

Stunning Office

I’m ushered into a lift that automatically takes me to the 6th floor.  I’m now at the beautiful Savills reception area, where the delightful welcome team let Arabella the Office Manager know I’m here, giving me a few minutes to appreciate the city scape and view of the cathedral below.  Wow.

It’s safe to say it’s a stunning 160 strong office, it’s no wonder that when Savills moved here in February they had ‘good coffee’ high up the priority list.

Whilst the Savills team are regulars at our Colmore Row store, they still drink coffee in their offices, but were struggling with bad coffee from a pretty rubbish coffee machine. This was also reflected by the quantity of beans being used.

Stunning Coffee

Arabella found her solution when visiting their other Birmingham site, Bank House (now merged with their new office) where we had one of our bean to cup coffee solutions on test and Jim (one of our Drink Better Coffee At Work team) approached Arabella for a chat about… Drinking Better Coffee at work.

The Magic Formula

“Initially it was the quality of the coffee and the simplicity of the maintenance that sold me” Arabella tells me, “Then when I visited Jim and Tim at the Coffee Roadshow (an event 200 did for businesses in the Colmore Row store) and I noticed the quality of the milk finish, the shine, the order was put in.”

As Arabella is telling me how much they love the coffee, there’s a constant stream of people from the 160 strong office coming to use the machine for their 200 fix.  Almost on queue the beans run out and one of the team reaches in the cupboard and tops it up – done within seconds!

All the Trimmings

They opted for the integral fridge for fresh milk, along with the chocolate powderadd-on, that 200 Degrees supply the powder for.  They also have our disposable cups, along with a selection of reusable glassware.

A Very Happy Team

It’s been a massive hit with several of the Savills team going whilst I’m sat near the machine.

I reluctantly leave Arabela to get back to her day job.  It’s been great meeting her and the onsite team but I know there’s plenty more exciting things to work with Arabela on in the future, so I won’t be gone too long.
