The Roast Of Christmas Past

An exclusive Christmas coffee from Rwamatamu, Rwanda.

Taste Notes: Caramel, syrup & fresh citrus.

Rwamatamu’s coffee farm and washing station are located in Rwanda’s picturesque rolling hills on the banks of Lake Kivu. The climate there features regular rainfall, and the soil is rich and volcanic, which means that the high-quality arabica bean grown there can thrive. For this coffee, smooth, sweet caramel gives way to a fresh, lemony zing on the tongue.

Please note, when ordering 1kg you will receive four bags of our 250g coffee bags.

Sustainability

80% of the employees of Rwamatamu are women, and the farm works with co-operatives and smallholders from the local rural community as a way to combat poverty in the region.

Rwanda

A small but powerful player in the industry, Rwanda only has a population of 7 million, and as such is responsible for just 1% of the world’s coffee production. Because of its relatively small size, there are no large coffee estates, and most producers are small holders. But the fertile land makes it perfect for growing the prized Bourbon arabica varietal, and the quality of their coffee is impressive.
