If you’re looking to take your barista skills to a Head Barista level, our SCA Barista Skills Intermediate Course is the next step in your professional development. This course is designed for those who already have a solid foundational knowledge of coffee and are ready to deepen their expertise.
You’ll be learning more about extraction and brewing, getting an introduction to sensory skills, enhanced milk-steaming techniques, as well as how to optimise workflow and care for your equipment. Additionally, the course covers essential aspects like barista menus, hygiene, safety and customer service, providing the knowledge needed to excel in more senior barista roles and contribute to a high-functioning coffee shop environment.

HOW IT WORKS
Booking
In order to take this course, you must be registered as a learner with the SCA. This is free to do, by setting up an account with the SCA here. You will get an SCA learner number, visible on your profile page, once you have completed the registration process.
Secure your space on the course by booking your preferred date and time here on the 200 Degrees website. Include your SCA learner number in the 'add an attendee' form when booking your course.
Fees & Exams
The total cost of £495 that you pay includes a course enrolment fee of £50 which 200 Degrees will pay transfer directly to the SCA. After completing this course, participants will be required to take an online written exam. On passing the course, you will receive official digital SCA certificate.
Duration & Class Size
There will be a maximum of 4 people in this class, to ensure everyone gets focused attention from their AST trainer. This course will run over the length of two full days, and will account for 14 hours of training. One day will be theory-based and one day will focus on practical application. There will be an online exam as well as a practical exam.
