JOE FROM 200 DEGREES IS A WINNER AT THE INDY COFFEE GUIDE LATTE ART THROWDOWN
We’re extremely pleased to report that Head Barista Joe Sheppard won the Indy Coffee Guide Throwdown for the South West and Wales held at Waterloo Tea in Cardiff.
Joe is no stranger to latte art wins and this is his second notable victory of 2017 coming as it does with a prize of £250, a full set of Indy Coffee Guides, a Yeovalley cookbook and a rather cool keep cup.
This time he wowed the crowd and impressed the judges from with a 12 tiered Tulip in an 8oz cup, an Inverted Swan in an 8oz takeaway cup, a Swan in an 8oz cup then for the final an Inverted Tulip in a 3oz Macchiato cup to win it. You may not know what those are so we’ve added some images of his work and a great little GIF of him in action here.
Kathryn Lewis, Editor of The Independent Coffee Guide added, ‘The throwdowns at the Indy Coffee Guide launches are always lots of fun. We try and keep them chilled but baristas always get a bit competitive when showing off their milky masterpieces. I’d heard rumours throughout the evening that the infamous Joe from 200 Degrees was taking part, and although the other contestants gave him a run for the £250 cash prize, his latte art skills were seriously slick and more than worthy of the top spot.’
