Aeropress - Great Coffee Made Easy
BREWING ON AN AEROPRESS
If you've got an aeropress at home already you're clearly a coffee lover. If you haven't, get it on your list. They're a relatively cheap way to make great coffee at home, with a slightly scientifc edge to them. Coupled with the recipe below, you'll get consistently great tasting coffee.
Time: 4 minutes
Size: Small (250ml of water)
Number of Cups: 1 Cup
Equipment:
- Aeropress (including filter papers)
- Tea spoon or scales
- Gooseneck Kettle (but a normal one will do!)
Ingredients:
- Coffee: 16g or 5 heaped teaspoons – medium to fine grind (we can grind this for you if you don't have a grinder)
- Water: 250ml of boiling water - left to cool for 1 minute (ideally 94°)
Recipe:
- Open the aeropress and add the filter cap
- Put the coffee into the Aeropress
- Slowly pour a quarter of the water into the aeropress (and enjoy the ‘bloom’)
- Wait for 30 seconds then stir
- Pour in the remaining water, then insert the plunger.
- Brew for another 90 seconds minutes and then start the plunge slowly, taking about 30 seconds.
Pour and enjoy!
