Nyabubare is an area just to the south east of the Rwenzori Mountains on the eastern edge of the Western Rift Valley. The farmers typically each have about 2 acres of land and coffee is their main cash crop.
Ripe cherries area carefully selected and collected on a daily basis, before being transported across the valley to their new processing plant at Kisinga. Here the cherries are floated and graded before being sun-dried for about 10 days under polytunnels to protect them from the rain.
