ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a new member to join our collaborative roastery team, responsible for producing our high quality customer loving coffee to epic standards. Our customers expect nothing less.  

You'll be key to ensuring our coffee meets the scrutiny of the Head Roaster whilst sticking firmly to established health and safety and safe workplace guidance.

You'll work closely with the Head Roaster and contribute expertise in sourcing, tasting and developing coffee blends or single origin products for 200 Degrees.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 
  • Support the Head Roaster in building relationships with importers and understanding their offer to inform the development of 200 Degrees coffee products.
  • Work with the Head Roaster to produce a weekly roasting schedule that meets the requirements of customer orders and enables the overall efficient running of the Roast House to our roasting standards.
  • Ensure each roast is recorded and logged correctly for full accountability
  • Sample, taste and profile new coffees to inform decisions on new coffee selections and purchases.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to prepare customer orders, potentially jumping to help out at any point in the process, as needed.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head Roaster or Senior Managers 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Education Requirements for the role

  • Green Coffee expertise.
  • Experience in coffee roasting methods and trends within the industry.
  • Stock control.
  • Attention to detail and quality control methodology.
  • Time Management, flexibility and prioritisation skills.
  • Sensory skills relevant to coffee tasting.
  • Passion for the coffee industry.
  • The ability to talk to visiting members of the public and visiting partner businesses on Roast House tours.

 

Desirable knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Barista skills.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements relevant to running a coffee roastery.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Networking skills.
